Wednesday, October 14, all those pictured at left met to transfer the donations raised at the prayer walk to the Annual VFW & Police Holiday Food & Gift Drive. We were thrilled to have raised a neat $1,000 that will be used to provide Christmas gifts and food for the needy in Troy this year. Thank you to all who gave and keep praying for God's blessings on our community!

A wonderful, rainy, prayerful, joyful day

Despite the windy, cold and wet weather, a determined and faithful 100-or-so people from at least 8 different churches attended the "Praying for the Heart of Troy" gathering in the Troy Veteran's Plaza in front of Troy City Hall.

Thank you to all who gave of their time and resources to see the dream of this prayer gathering realized. There was a great spirit of unity among those who joined to pray in Jesus' Name that God would bless America, our businesses, communities and families.

We began with refreshments and fellowship then split into four teams. One team walked east for one mile of Troy's Golden Corridor, Big Beaver Road. A second team walked west for one mile, and a third team circled the civic center complex. A fourth team stayed and filled the plaza with worship and prayer until the walkers returned.

This is your invitation to an upcoming community event. "Praying for the Heart of Troy" is a coming together of Christians who live, work and worship in Troy, Michigan, to unite in prayer for the needs of our families, businesses and community. Sponsored by the interdenominational Pastors & Intercessors Network Ministry, the gathering is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, at 10:00 a.m., at the Troy Veteran's Memorial Plaza.

Desperate times are all too apparent. Our failing economy is impacting our community at all levels. The spiritual climate is affected as well by increased stress due to job losses, foreclosures, uncertainty and fear. Through prayer, as desperate hearts turn heavenward, we have access to the One who has the resources and power to bring about spiritual and economic revival in our community and our families. God can solve what man cannot.

It is not enough to simply wish for change or to hope that God will include our community on His revival itinerary. If spiritual transformation and healing in our land is to become a reality in our lives and in our neighborhoods, hope must give way to faith and commitment to prayer. Our solitary goal must be to prepare the way of the Lord—to ensure that we welcome Him.

Through concerted prayer, let us join as one body and call on the name of Jesus to move upon our city. As one voice, let us petition the Lord to revitalize and transform families, citizens, businesses, schools, churches and governmental leadership according to His design and purpose. As we seek the face of God, we open the path to usher in the Way, the Truth and the Life, Jesus Christ.
